Leviticus 8:31 NLT
“Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons, “Boil the remaining meat of the offerings at the Tabernacle entrance, and eat it there, along with the bread that is in the basket of offerings for the ordination, just as I commanded when I said, ‘Aaron and his sons will eat it.’”
Aaron and his sons will eat it
Every scripture has a wealth of knowledge that can be applied daily. In today’s scripture, Moses instructed Aaron and his sons to consume meat offerings. They were asked to boil the meat offerings that remained at the entrance of the Tabernacle and eat them there with bread from the basket of offerings for ordination. Although this may seem like a simple commandment, it’s essential to understand its reasoning.
It’s worth noting that the meat and bread offerings were safe for consumption. However, Moses stressed the importance of following God’s instructions for consuming them. Why was it non-negotiable? There might not have been any instruction if it was a no-brainer for Aaron and his sons. The fact that Moses reminded them that the meat and the bread must be eaten signaled something profound. Perhaps the beneficiaries believed eating the offerings would somehow ruin something or everything. It’s important to remember that consuming the offerings did not deprive anyone of God’s presence. Friends, although God’s way might contradict what we know or are used to, it is still the best. So, let us always try to follow it.

Dear Heavenly Father, Please guide me to follow Your commands, even if they go against my upbringing and instincts. I pray for Your help and guidance in Jesus’s name. Amen.
