“Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the Tabernacle and everything in it, making them holy.”
Power to make holy
Today’s scripture reference highlights Moses’ use of his willpower to sanctify the Tabernacle. The anointing oil alone cannot sanctify anything or anyone. It requires a willing individual to apply it, which indicates that the power to sanctify lies within the anointing oil holder, that is, you and me. How do you use your willpower ? Do you use it to carry out endeavours that give glory to God or otherwise? Dear friends, it is worth noting that the Tabernacle that requires sanctification today is not the same one that Moses sanctified in the wilderness. Instead, it is our physical bodies that require sanctification. It is our responsibility to make our bodies holy, and this cannot be achieved by simply drinking olive oil. Instead, we must engage in a lifestyle that glorifies God.
Prayer
Dear God, I ask for Your help in always remembering that I am responsible for keeping my body, which is Your Temple, pure and holy. I pray this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
