Leviticus 7:20 NLT
“If you are ceremonially unclean and you eat meat from a peace offering that was presented to the Lord, you will be cut off from the community.”
Steer clear of disobedience
Although God accepts individuals choosing to be ceremonially unclean, He disapproves of those who knowingly consume the meat of the peace offering meant for Him while in a state of impurity. The scripture states that those who do so must be banished from the land. This passage serves to illustrate God’s disdain for disobedience. Anyone who engages in disobedience is akin to someone who practices divination. Since the penalty for the latter is death, it is clear why disobedience deserves a similar fate. Therefore, let us avoid disobedience and strive to obey God’s commands.
Prayer
Dear God, please give me the strength and guidance to resist any temptation to engage in disobedience. I pray that You will help me to remain steadfast in following Your commands and always strive for obedience. Through Jesus Christ, I trust that You will grant me the wisdom and courage to do what is right. Thank you for Your love and grace. Amen.
