Leviticus 4:31 NLT
“Then he must remove all the goat’s fat, just as he does with the fat of the peace offering. He will burn the fat on the altar, and it will be a pleasing aroma to the Lord. Through this process, the priest will purify the people, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven.”
Labour of love
Today the emphasis is on the second sentence of the referenced scripture. After the Priest had painstakingly removed all the fat, the priest proceeded on the same day to carry out the next step, which was burning them on the altar. The Bible did not indicate the duration of time that the priest used; however, historical records reveal that priests performed 45 burnt offerings daily. The lesson is that these priests performed these endeavours without expecting any monetary reward. They daily gave their time, energy, and skillsets to God. Here is the kicker – these people never lacked! Friends, God will never forget our labour of love.
Prayer
Lord Almighty, please do not forget my labour of love. In Jesus’s name, amen.
