Under the law, an atonement requires a series of procedures. The high priest, elders, and commoners had diverse sacrificial animal requirements; however, they all had to place their hands on their respective sacrificial animals. However, not until these people had put their hands on the sacrificial animal that their sins were transferred to the animals. Placing hands on the animals was an admittance of guilt. As simple as it sounded, such could not have happened unless humility and the willingness to restore a broken relationship with God were one’s driving force. Without any doubt, the act was embarrassing, like a mug shot. However, Jesus became a spectacle of ridicule for three hours on the cross at cavalry for you and me. Therefore friends, let us not take it for granted.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I will not take Your love for granted and will always reciprocate through my obedience to You, in Jesus’s name, amen.
