Leviticus 3:1 NLT
“If you present an animal from the herd as a peace offering to the Lord, it may be a male or a female, but it must have no defects.”
It is “if” not “when”
It is often said that the more you look, the less you see. Indeed, the maxim is on point, but only with humans. When it comes to divine issues, the situation is always about the more you look, the more you see! No one experiences a glimpse of a divine encounter and desires it to stop. The more we study God’s words, the more revelation He provides. Although God instituted the peace offering, it is incredible that He didn’t force anyone to do it. If He wanted everyone to do it, the choice of word would have been when but not if. However, if anyone chooses to do it, God desires that it be honorably performed. The chosen animal must be without defects. An interesting aspect is that God doesn’t care about weight. Whether it is weighty or light does not matter to God. For instance, the widow’s mite wasn’t weighty, yet it received Jesus’s commendation.
Prayer
Lord of all creations, please let everything I do in Your presence receive Your commendation. In Jesus’s name, amen.
