Leviticus 13:14 NLT
”But if any open sores appear, the infected person will be pronounced ceremonially unclean.“
Don’t leave it unattended!
In the Old Testament, it was not the presence of a sore that made a person unclean, but rather, the opening of the sore. The Lord declared that if any sore were opened, it would render the affected person unclean. Therefore, it only takes one incident of an open sore to make a person ceremonially unclean.
What does an open sore signify? It signifies an untreated issue, which, by the way, no one is immune against. Yet every child of God has the power to rise above them. Through the indwelling of the Spirit of Christ, we can rise above any form of impurity, sexual immorality, or greed because a hint of these issues can degenerate into an open sore.
Therefore, friends, let us abide by Ephesians 5:3’s dictates, “Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.”
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to treat the inkling of any sore before it becomes open. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
