“the pure gold lampstand with its symmetrical lamp cups, all its accessories, and the olive oil for lighting;”
Olive oil for lighting
Without a doubt, all the tasks in the Tabernacle project required care and attention to detail. And one could imagine Moses’s joy when he inspected each completed task and found nothing missing. In the case of the lampstand, Moses noted that all the ‘t’s’ were crossed and the ‘i’s’ dotted. It wasn’t a mere repetition for Moses to assert that the lampstand was made of not just any kind of gold but pure gold! In addition, Moses reported that the lamp cups were symmetrical, meaning there was no deviation. Bezalel and the other artisans didn’t just deliver the lampstand but also the accessories, indicating the item was ready for use. Lastly, Moses noted that olive oil for lighting was part of the delivery. And without the olive oil in place, lighting could not take place. Friends, you and I need to have ‘olive oil’ because without it lighting the lamp would be hindered.
Prayer
Merciful Father, let my lamp keep burning and may my olive oil never run dry. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
