Leviticus 8:8 NLT
“And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim.”
Light and perfection
In today’s scripture reference, we see that Moses took personal responsibility for his duties and did not assign them to others. He personally placed the Urim and Thummim on Aaron, each with its own meaning. The Urim represents “light,” while the Thummim represents “perfection.” Interestingly, Aaron could not wear both elements and still led a questionable lifestyle. In the same way, it goes against Christian principles to claim to be a follower of Christ but not strive for excellence in our behaviour towards God and others. So, my friends, are you embodying God’s divine attributes in your everyday lives?
Prayer
Dear God, I humbly ask for Your guidance in living my life as Your representative and bringing glory to Your name. May I always reflect Your love and goodness in all that I do. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
