Leviticus 7:23 NLT
“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. You must never eat fat, whether from cattle, sheep, or goats.”
To the people
Today’s scripture reading highlights God’s boundless love for his people, the entire household of Israel. This love is not conditional or limited to a select few, but rather, it extends to all. In this particular passage, God instructs his people not to consume fat. Interestingly, this instruction is not only an expression of God’s love, but it also serves as a reminder that our choices have consequences. Modern science has revealed that consuming fat can have harmful effects on human health, which underscores the importance of making wise choices for our well-being. As Psalm 19:11 suggests, those who follow divine truth will reap a rich reward. However, it’s worth remembering that simply knowing the truth is not enough; we must also apply it to our lives. By embracing divine truth and living in accordance with it, we can experience true freedom. Ultimately, the choice to comply with divine truth and live a life of freedom is ours.
Prayer
Our Father in Heaven, I am grateful for Your infinite love and unwavering guidance. I humbly ask for Your assistance in adhering to Your teachings and finding solace in them. In Jesus’s name, I offer this prayer. Amen.
