Leviticus 3:2 NLT
“Lay your hand on the animal’s head, and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tabernacle. Then Aaron’s sons, the priests, will splatter its blood against all sides of the altar.”
On the animal’s head
While the word that began the instructions for burnt and grain offerings was “when,” however, it was “if“ that started the instruction regarding peace offering; in other words, the peace offering was optional, which means God does not force anyone to make peace with Him. However, any Israelite that chose to do it must not only bring a defect-free animal but must also lay a hand on it and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tabernacle. After that, the priest will splatter the animal’s blood against all sides of the altar of the burnt offering. Without the splattering of the animal’s blood sacrificed, the peace offering was incomplete. Through the shedding of Jesus’s blood, you and I received are reconciled with God. Hence let us not take the finished work of salvation that Jesus did for granted.

Lord of all creations, I appreciate the death and resurrection of Your Son upon my life. Thank You for Your love. In Jesus’s name, amen.
