Numbers 10:28 NLT
“This was the order in which the Israelites marched, division by division.”
What about the foreigners?
Scripture says that foreigners living in Egypt left with the Israelites, sharing in the freedom God granted them. When the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, God did not leave these foreigners behind; the I AM WHO I AM cared for them as well. Later, however, God distinguished between those who belonged to Him and those who did not. In Numbers 10, the Israelites set out according to God’s instructions, organized by tribe. The foreigners travelling with them remained distinct from God’s people. Friends, do not deprive yourselves as the mixed multitude did. Instead, be grafted into Christ so that God may count you among His own. The foreigners’ choices left them with a status known as OYO: “on your own.” Friends, God does not want anyone to remain in OYO status, but if you reject Him, that status will remain. No one can remain outside of Him and expect to continue receiving His grace. Are you a child of God?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, only Your children have access to all that You provide and promise. Help me recognize the fullness of the blessings and promises available to Your children, and keep me from denying myself these gifts by choosing an identity apart from Yours. In Jesus’s name, amen..
