Numbers 9:22 NLT
“Whether the cloud stayed above the Tabernacle for two days, a month, or a year, the people of Israel stayed in camp and did not move on. But as soon as it lifted, they broke camp and moved on.”
The people of Israel stayed in the camp
It is common for us to try to speed up our efforts to reach the desired goal, especially when tools or resources are readily available to facilitate this. If anyone should be eager to settle in the promised land as fast as possible, it should be the people of Israel because they have been in bondage for 400 years. Although they were eager to reach Canaan, their movement was not based on their own plans but aligned with God’s timetable. This is why they did not advance on their own terms but waited on the cloud; when the cloud rested over the Tabernacle—whether for two days, a month, or a year—they remained in the camp. Staying in the camp implies that the people of Israel did not venture to explore their surroundings but remained content with their designated location, trusting in God’s guidance. Friends, are you staying in the camp, or have you gone to explore your surroundings?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to demonstrate patience and trust that what You have promised has already been fulfilled in Your divine plan. Grant me the faith to remain steadfast, knowing that the moment of revelation is approaching and will not elude me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
