Numbers 9:13 NLT
“But those who neglect to celebrate the Passover at the regular time, even though they are ceremonially clean and not away on a trip, will be cut off from the community of Israel. If they fail to present the Lord’s offering at the proper time, they will suffer the consequences of their guilt.”
Let His wondrous works remain vivid
God’s instructions are for everyone! If they weren’t meant for all to follow, the Lord would have specified who could ignore them. In the scripture referenced, God clearly states what will happen to anyone who intentionally skips the Passover celebration at its appointed time, emphasizing the seriousness of obedience. It is crucial to understand that neither Moses, Aaron, nor his sons could disregard this command without facing consequences—the Lord insisted that everyone who is ceremonially clean and not away on a journey must participate in the Passover. Ignoring it isn’t just neglect; it equates to dismissing the incredible deliverance the Lord provided to the people of Israel, which was a pivotal act of salvation. God desires this moment of salvation to remain vivid in their memories to reinforce faith and obedience. Similarly, God wants the finished work of salvation that Jesus accomplished on the cross at Calvary to stay alive and powerful in our hearts, serving as a constant reminder of His love and sacrifice. Friends, if a good deed once received loses its meaning or becomes outdated over time, one’s sense of gratitude diminishes just as quickly. Therefore, don’t let this happen to you; cherish and remember the divine acts of salvation and grace that sustain your faith.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the countless wondrous works You have performed in my life, from the daily blessings to life-changing miracles. I pray that I will not, over time, diminish their value or forget their significance. Instead, I am committed to keeping their importance vivid in my heart and mind, serving as a constant reminder of Your divine power and goodness. May these reflections also teach the next generations to recognize and cherish Your blessings. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
