Numbers 7:21-22

Strong Tower: A daily scripture reflection.

Numbers 7:21 – 22 NLT
“He brought a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb for a burnt offering, and a male goat for a sin offering.”

Labour of love
The impressive size of the gifts presented by Nethanel hints that he probably didn’t carry all of them by himself to Moses. Instead, he was likely helped by trusted people, such as servants, close friends, or members of his community, such as elders or fellow Levites, who worked together to ensure the offerings arrived safely and without a hitch. A heartfelt question for you and me is: do we share in others’ burdens, especially in working for the Lord, or do we hold back support when it’s most needed?

Another meaningful point is that Moses mentioned only Nethanel as the one bringing the offering, even though others probably helped deliver it. This makes us ask ourselves: are we willing to serve selflessly, aiming to please God without needing recognition? The scripture doesn’t tell us who helped Nethanel, but God—who is all-knowing and ever-present—knows their names and surely rewards their efforts because His word reminds us that He doesn’t forget the labour of love. Friends,
Is your labour truly a labour of love?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to consistently maintain my support for others in Your vineyard. Strengthen my resolve to serve faithfully without expecting recognition. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
