Numbers 6:22 NLT
“Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:”

This special blessing
If there is one aspect most churches find challenging, it is maintaining unity among their members. While individuals naturally want to stand out or carve out a unique niche within the congregation, this tendency can inadvertently lead to subtle divisions, misunderstandings, and even conflicts. However, the scripture referenced delivers a vital message: God is not the author of confusion, but of peace and order (1 Corinthians 14:33). This truth is exemplified by the divine instruction that the special blessing Aaron and his sons were to pronounce over the children of Israel must be spoken with complete consistency: nothing added and nothing taken away.

Just as Aaron’s blessing was to be spoken in a unified manner, so too must his sons convey it in the same way, emphasizing the importance of harmony and collective identity. No one should seek to overshadow another or introduce alterations that could sow discord or confusion. Beloved, are you speaking the same language and tone as your fellow brethren, or have you developed your own distinctive way of expression? Differences in language, tone, or expression can quickly become sources of division, making it crucial to maintain a shared communication style.

Lastly, this blessing was not ordinary; the Lord designated it as a special blessing, highlighting its spiritual significance and sacred purpose. Notably, the release of this blessing was unconditional—it was given freely and graciously, without any prerequisites or conditions attached, exemplifying God’s generous nature. Friends, let us remember the words of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and always demonstrate them: “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). In doing so, we embody principles of generosity, unity, and humility in our spiritual practices and communal life.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please guide me confidently on my journey with You. May my commitment to doing everything for Your glory, expecting no reward except from You, remain steadfast against any deviation. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
