Numbers 6:19 NLT
“After the Nazirite’s head has been shaved, the priest will take for each of them the boiled shoulder of the ram, and he will take from the basket a cake and a wafer made without yeast. He will put them all into the Nazirite’s hands.”
Trust and obey
Often, our desire to engage in any endeavour is closely linked to our level of knowledge about the task at hand. While it is naturally satisfying to be well-informed before undertaking a responsibility, following God isn’t about feeling good or gaining confidence beforehand. Sometimes, you may not fully understand the task even as you perform it, but as long as you trust and obey, you will find happiness and peace.
One such scripture verse in which God desires unquestioned followership is the one cited above, because I kept asking for a specific insight the Lord intended to reveal, but to no avail. Interestingly, the only clear insight I received was that it is the word of God, and just as the priest in the Old Testament strictly adhered to it, we too must adhere to the teaching of Christ Jesus. Whether the priest or the Nazarites had a complete understanding of God’s will isn’t the primary factor; what truly matters is their unwavering obedience to His word and commandments. Friends, do you follow God’s will regardless, even when it isn’t fully clear to you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I eagerly seek to follow Your instruction, trusting that Your guidance will lead me to wonderful things, even when it transcends my understanding. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
