Strong Tower: A daily scripture reflection.

Numbers 6:14 NLT
“and offer their sacrifices to the Lord: a one-year-old male lamb without defect for a burnt offering, a one-year-old female lamb without defect for a sin offering, a ram without defect for a peace offering,”
Offer sacrifices to the Lord
It is inherent in humans to engage in any endeavour for the goal of getting recognized. However, in the referenced scripture, the Lord emphasized that no Nazarite should offer sacrifices for personal gratification. Instead, they are called to offer sacrifices to the Lord. With this in mind, to whom do you offer your sacrifices, i.e., thanks? Is it solely to God, or also to your own efforts? This leads us to reflect on the different sacrifices made by those who completed their Nazarite vows, each revealing insight for living.
For instance, the burnt offering atones for sin, demonstrating to us that even those who keep vows are not sinless, as the animal is entirely burned on the bronze altar. Yet, this offering alone isn’t enough, which is why a sin offering is also required. Furthermore, the sacrificial blood used to purify the sanctuary’s furnishings signifies that our sins hold far-reaching consequences. Finally, the completion of a vow is not by chance but is enabled only through God’s help. Taken together, these sacrifices teach us that humility, reliance on divine strength, and gratitude are essential on our spiritual journey.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to consistently offer my sacrifices of gratitude solely to You, refusing to direct my thanks or worship to any other person or entity, thereby reaffirming my devotion and reverence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
