Numbers 6:1 NLT
“Then the Lord said to Moses,”

An uninterrupted relationship
The frequency of the phrase “the Lord said to Moses” in scripture is remarkable. In most instances, it is followed by a command or an instruction. These commands vary in scope and focus. While they are significant, it is essential to emphasize why Moses was God’s chosen vessel, given that there were over 600 thousand men whom the I AM WHO I AM rescued from Egypt. A key point is that as you draw closer to God, the I AM WHO I AM will draw closer to you. This connection can only happen if you align your actions accordingly.

Paul instructed Timothy that there are different types of vessels: some are for honourable use, while others are for dishonourable use. Ultimately, it is not God who determines their status but rather individual choices. In 2 Timothy 2:21, Paul states, “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.” Therefore, the enduring relationship between God and Moses was not based on favouritism but rather on Moses’s commitment to purity, indicating that he did not become entangled in fleeting matters. Beloved, we have grace through Jesus, the Only Begotten Son, to have an uninterrupted relationship with our heavenly Father, but only if we don’t encumber ourselves with ephemeral issues.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for Your guidance and strength as I strive to prioritize You above all else in my life. Please assist me in cultivating a pure heart and mind, free from distractions and the transient concerns of this world. Help me to focus on what truly matters—my relationship with You, my spiritual growth, and serving others—so that I may live a life that reflects Your love and grace. Enable me to disentangle myself from fleeting issues that divert my attention from Your purpose, so I can fully embrace Your will for my life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
