Numbers 5:5 NLT
“Then the Lord said to Moses,

What set Moses apart?
There is something many, if not all, people desire but, for some reason, often consider a stretch goal. It is a close relationship with God. God has not upped the standard, but many individuals struggle to attain this intimate connection. Without a shadow of a doubt, Moses had a close relationshipneith God. However, he did not achieve their remarkable communion with God through ritualistic practices or constant fasting, which would have been unnecessary, for the Lord mandated that the people of Israel fast once a year on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-31).

So, what set Moses apart? First, he was not sinless, but he did not wallow in sin. Second, Moses must have cultivated a lifestyle characterized by clean hands and a pure heart. This encapsulates both ethical conduct and sincere intentions, suggesting a life free from wrongdoing and filled with a genuine desire to serve God and others. The Lord yearns to speak to you and to share in a constant dialogue, but this raises an important question: are you prepared to meet the divine conditions required for such a relationship?

In Matthew 5:8, Jesus emphasizes, “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.” This verse highlights that purity of heart is not merely a passive state but an active pursuit, opening the door to deeper spiritual revelations and companionship with the Creator. Are you willing to take the steps necessary to cultivate this purity and embrace the profound connection that God desires with you? This, according to Psalm 119:9, requires one thing: obeying God’s word.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for Your guidance and strength as I strive to keep my hands clean from wrongdoing intentionally and my heart pure from negativity and malice. Help me to engage in actions that reflect Your love and righteousness, and instill in me the discipline to nurture a heart filled with compassion, kindness, and integrity. May my choices honour You and serve as a positive light to those around me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
