Numbers 4:41 NLT
“So this was the total of all those from the Gershonite clans who were eligible to serve at the Tabernacle. Moses and Aaron listed them, just as the Lord had commanded.”
Finding fulfillment in one’s calling
One key insight in the referenced scripture is that the total number recorded for the Gershonite clans was not fixed, meaning it could change over time. Additionally, it’s noteworthy that Moses and Aaron took great care in listing the Gershonite males aged 30 to 50. They approached this responsibility not merely as an obligation but as a divine assignment that required their full commitment and focus.
Beloved, understand that people will evaluate your work, just as they did for Moses and Aaron. However, you must not be disturbed by evaluations based on personal criteria or standards. Instead, perform your assignments in alignment with the Lord’s instructions – don’t be swayed by people’s or societal expectations. God is counting on you, so don’t disappoint Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly seek Your guidance and wisdom in aligning my efforts and endeavours with Your divine instructions in all aspects of my life. Please help me rely on the rubric You gave and never worry about conforming to societal expectations and standards. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
