Numbers 4:34 NLT
“So Moses, Aaron, and the other leaders of the community listed the members of the Kohathite division by their clans and families.”

Moses, Aaron, and other leaders
The referenced scripture provides insight into the individuals who acted upon the divine instruction that God had previously given to Moses in Numbers 4:1-2, where He instructed: “Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ‘Record the names of the members of the clans and families of the Kohathite division of the tribe of Levi.’” This passage is significant not only for highlighting Moses and Aaron as key figures but also for emphasizing the collaborative effort of other community leaders who joined them in this vital undertaking.

Notably, the presence of Moses and Aaron’s names in this list testifies to their leadership and commitment to fulfilling God’s directives. However, it’s equally important to recognize that they did not work in isolation; they welcomed the involvement of other community leaders. This raises an essential question for all of us: when it comes to kingdom business, do we fold our arms or roll up our sleeves to get involved, especially if there is no restriction in doing so? What the community leaders did was a demonstration of love. Beloved, are you demonstrating love?

Furthermore, Moses and Aaron exemplified the importance of acknowledging contributions from others. They made a point to give credit to the community leaders who assisted them, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration. Beloved, let us learn to acknowledge appropriately individuals deserving recognition for their efforts. Such acts of gratitude not only motivate others but also help cultivate a culture of appreciation.

Importantly, while the names of these contributing leaders may not be recorded in the scriptures, their faithful service did not go unnoticed by God. The I AM WHO I AM values and remembers every ounce of labour poured into the work of His kingdom. Therefore, we can take comfort in the understanding that regardless of our visibility or recognition, our dedication and love in service to others are seen and rewarded by God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for your guidance and strength to overcome any hesitations I may have in offering my skills and efforts in Your vineyard. Please instill in me the wisdom and discernment to recognize the specific needs of those around me, whether in my community, workplace, or circle of friends. Help me find the courage to step forward and respond to these needs with compassion and action, always striving to reflect Your glory in every endeavour I undertake. May my contributions serve as a testament to Your love and grace, bringing hope and support to those who need it most. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
