Numbers 4:16 NLT
“Eleazar son of Aaron the priest will be responsible for the oil of the lampstand, the fragrant incense, the daily grain offering, and the anointing oil. In fact, Eleazar will be responsible for the entire Tabernacle and everything in it, including the sanctuary and its furnishings.”
Know Your Responsibility
There is no shortage of tasks in God’s vineyard; however, it is essential to seek His direction, as He knows where everyone fits and what each person needs to do. In the referenced scripture, Eleazar, the son of Aaron, was entrusted with ensuring that there was always enough oil for the lampstand, fragrant incense, daily grain offerings, and anointing oil. His role was not to procure or produce these essential items himself but to ensure they remained consistently available and were not depleted. Like Eleazar, you and I have a role: to ensure nothing within our purview goes awry.
Eleazar’s task highlights a vital aspect of divine assignments: stewardship of the resources God provides. While he was not responsible for acquiring or creating these sacred items, he was charged with overseeing their availability and ensuring they were used appropriately, in accordance with God’s guidelines. When God entrusted Eleazar with these oversight roles, He knew that Eleazar had the capacity to fulfill them. Similarly, God knows you can perform your oversight role. The question is, are you not slacking?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, just as You revealed to Moses the specific responsibilities that Eleazar was meant to uphold within Your sacred presence, I humbly ask that You grant me clarity through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Illuminate my path so that I may understand the unique duties and service You have called me to fulfill in Your vineyard. Help me to embrace these responsibilities with a willing heart and a spirit of devotion. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
