Numbers 4:6 NLT
“Then they must cover the inner curtain with fine goatskin leather and spread over that a single piece of blue cloth. Finally, they must put the carrying poles of the Ark in place.”
Complimentary, not competitive!
In the referenced scripture, the Lord specified three essential instructions that must be followed meticulously and in the correct order. Failure to adhere to this sequence not only renders the entire process ineffective but also bars the Kohathites from entering the Tabernacle, thereby hindering them from fulfilling their sacred duties. It is worth noting that the operational framework hinges on Aaron and his sons fulfilling their responsibilities diligently and on time.
This structure signifies a profound lesson: God has deliberately arranged our roles within the faith community to be complementary, not competitive. When we understand this divine orchestration, we can appreciate the importance of collaboration, where each role enhances the other rather than undermines it.
Furthermore, it is critical to note that the Lord made it abundantly clear that there is no allowance for deviation in the materials or methods employed in these sacred duties. The specificity of His commands—such as the instruction to use a blue cloth and the provision of carrying poles—leaves no room for personal interpretation or alternative choices. If there were flexibility permitted, the term “must” would not have been utilized with such emphasis.
Beloved, we must recognize that we cannot approach God’s work on our own terms and anticipate commendations for our efforts. True commendations and blessings can only be awarded when we operate in strict accordance with God’s will and specifications.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly pray that I may diligently put into action all that You require for each specific task assigned to me, striving for excellence in every detail. Grant me the wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to carry it out with integrity and dedication. May each effort I make bring glory to Your name and reflect Your love and grace in my work. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
