Numbers 3:50 NLT
“He collected 1,365 pieces of silver on behalf of these firstborn sons of Israel (each piece weighing the same as the sanctuary shekel).”

Project 1365
Accountability and transparency are part of the character that servant leaders must possess and consistently demonstrate. The referenced scripture indicates that Moses demonstrated both. Moses didn’t collect more or less than what the Lord instructed from each of the 273 unmatched firstborn sons of the people of Israel.

If Moses had chosen to collect more than was mandated, it would not only have been an act of greed but would also have placed an undue burden on the people, complicating their lives while disregarding divine directives. Conversely, if he had collected less, it would have resulted in hardship for Aaron and his sons, who were designated by God to receive these offerings, ultimately undermining the Lord’s command.

Moses, however, acted with both integrity and precision; he collected exactly the amount specified and meticulously documented the figures to ensure complete transparency. His actions exemplify the importance of adhering to ethical standards and maintaining accountability in leadership.

This prompts reflection: Are you transparent in your actions? Do you acknowledge your accountability to those you lead? Authentic leadership involves a commitment to these principles, fostering trust and respect within a community.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before You with a humble heart, asking for Your guidance in being accountable and transparent in all my endeavours. Please grant me the strength and wisdom to approach each task with unwavering integrity and precision. Help me to remain focused and diligent, ensuring that my actions reflect Your greatness and serve as a testament to Your glory. May every decision I make and every project I undertake be done with honesty and purpose, bringing honour to Your name now and always. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
