Leviticus 16:19 NLT
“Then he must sprinkle the blood with his finger seven times over the altar. In this way, he will cleanse it from Israel’s defilement and make it holy.”
‭‭
In this way…
Everything we undertake in life should have a clear and defined purpose. Without purpose, our goals can become uncertain and shift aimlessly. As devoted followers of Christ, we understand the importance of having a clear purpose in our actions and decisions. Without a clear understanding of our purpose, deviating from our divine calling and losing sight of our spiritual journey becomes easy.

In the scripture referenced today, we learn the Lord instructed Aaron to sprinkle the blood with his finger seven times over the altar. This act was not merely a ceremonial formality; instead, it carried profound significance. Its purpose was to purify the altar from the defilement of the people of Israel.

This signifies that the altar, despite always being in the presence of the Lord, was not inherently holy. The act of sprinkling the blood of bulls and goats on the altar transformed its status and symbolized the purification from defilement. It’s crucial to understand that the efficacy of the blood of bulls and goats was limited, as it only cleansed the defilement of the people of Israel and not the entire world. However, the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse not only the Jews but also anyone who puts their faith in the complete work of salvation. This exemplifies the universal and transformative power of Jesus’ sacrifice for all who believe.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the finished work of salvation Jesus purchased with blood. It does not only atone for my sins but everyone’s sins. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
