Strong Tower

A daily scripture exposition.

Monday, November 18, 2024

Leviticus: 22:24 NLT
“If an animal has damaged testicles or is castrated, you may not offer it to the Lord. You must never do this in your own land.”

Don’t turn a blind eye
In today’s scripture, the Lord emphasizes the significant role of the offeror when bringing an animal for sacrifice. It is not merely a ritual but a solemn duty for each individual to thoroughly inspect and evaluate every aspect of the animal, ensuring its worthiness for offering to God. The scriptures make it clear that if the animal’s testicles are damaged or if it has been castrated, while such animals might be deemed acceptable by the general populace, they are explicitly not acceptable in the eyes of the Lord. This underscores the importance of presenting one’s best to God, reflecting the seriousness with which sacrifices should be regarded.

Furthermore, this passage illustrates a vital principle: society’s prevailing ideologies and trends do not dictate what pleases God. The Lord chose not to appoint the priests or Levites as gatekeepers of righteousness in this matter; instead, He placed that responsibility squarely on the shoulders of the offeror. Each individual must embody a sense of moral responsibility and integrity when approaching God, ensuring their offerings are made with sincerity and purity of heart.

Moreover, we see a poignant warning from the Lord regarding the consequences of improper sacrifices within their land. The question arises: why such a warning? The underlying concern is that engaging in actions contrary to God’s directives can hinder the fruitful productivity of the land. Such transgressions may have spiritual ramifications and disrupt the natural balance and blessings the land provides.

In conclusion, remaining vigilant and reflecting on our actions in God’s presence is crucial. Every decision and deed can create ripples that extend far beyond the immediate moment, impacting our lives and the broader environment. Therefore, let us approach our relationship with God with the seriousness and respect it demands, ensuring that our offerings, both literal and metaphorical, reflect our best efforts and intentions.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You with a sincere heart and deep gratitude. I pray that I may always be mindful of the offerings I bring to You. Help me to ensure that my intentions, actions, and sacrifices align with Your will and are pleasing in Your sight, regardless of societal pressures or the opinions of others. May I seek to honor You with the best of what I have, living in a way that reflects my love and commitment to You. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.

Mission statement

Vision statement

A daily scripture exposition.

Thursday, August 1, 2024

Leviticus 19:5 NLT
“When you sacrifice a peace offering to the Lord, offer it properly so you will be accepted by God.”
‭‭
What is worth doing…
In the scripture reference, the Lord emphasized the inevitability of the peace offering by the people of Israel, highlighting that it was not a matter of “if” but “when” they would engage in it. The purpose of the peace offering was to express gratitude for the blessings bestowed by God. According to the scripture, the communal meal and fellowship that followed the peace offering involved the offeror, the priest, and their families and friends.

Furthermore, it was evident that the Lord valued the proper execution of the peace offering over its timing. The emphasis was on diligently performing the offering so that God could accept the person making it. Jesus is our ultimate peace offering, carrying out the sacrifice with meticulous care. This act is central to why all who have faith in Christ Jesus have found peace with God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly pray that I will remain steadfast in my faith, firmly anchored in the completed work of Christ Jesus for my salvation and all aspects of my life. So help me, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Mission statement
Reaching out through love, teaching the truth, and humbly leading all nations to God through Jesus Christ.

A daily scripture exposition.

Tuesday, July 9, 2024

Leviticus 18:14 NLT
“Do not violate your uncle, your father’s brother, by having sexual relations with his wife, for she is your aunt.”
‭‭
Don’t just say no; act it
In a WhatsApp chat, a former classmate announced that he had left Christianity because he felt that the rules were too controlling. However, upon careful consideration of the scripture, it becomes evident that none of the guidelines were established to benefit God. Instead, they are intended for our benefit, particularly when we adhere to them. King David supports this notion in Psalm 19, verse 8, stating, “The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.”

While it is true that it takes two people to engage in a relationship, the Lord clarifies in the referenced scripture that men are responsible for managing their emotions. Even if the woman initiates the inappropriate behaviour, the Lord instructs men and boys to resist. As a man of faith, it is crucial to recognize that it is your responsibility to cultivate a heart that rejects anything ungodly, even the aspects of sexual relations.

Prayer
Almighty Father, give me the strength to be resilient in all aspects of my life. I ask for Your guidance and help. In Jesus’s name, amen.

A daily scripture exposition.

Wednesday, January 25, 2023

Exodus 40:38 NLT
“The cloud of the Lord hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys.”
‭‭
The cloud of the Lord
Even though the exquisite of the Tabernacle cannot in any way be compared with the beauty of the street of heaven, it didn’t lack God’s presence. The implication is that God cherished it. He loved how Bezalel and Oholiab handled the making and Moses set them up. Hence, the reason the cloud hovered over the Tabernacle. Friends, do you want God to take delight in your endeavors ? Please, follow whatever patterns He instructs. The cloud was there in the morning and night, even when the weather was cold or hot. No day or night rain made the cloud fizzle out, and that explains the love of God for His people. He stood with His people during merriment and when they were experiencing pensive sadness. The scripture says that “this continued throughout all their journeys.” Knowing that the people of Israel were not cool-headed, it is incredible that the cloud of the Lord never lifted. Friends, God’s love is always available for any erring child.

Prayer
Faithful Father, please let Your mercy speak for me in every aspect of my life. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Exodus 40:37 NLT
“But if the cloud did not rise, they remained where they were until it lifted.”
‭‭
If the cloud…
Patience is a virtue that all God’s children must exhibit and display at all times. Among other messages, today’s referenced scripture reveals that the Israelites were not in a hurry to get to the promised land. They depended only on the leading of God through the movement of the cloud. When the cloud remained in a location for days, the Israelites wouldn’t move, and when it moved after a few hours, they never for once complained about their settlement. The scripture mentioned something worth highlighting about their attitude – they remained where they were until it lifted, which means no one dissented or wandered away by an inch. Instead, everyone complied, and there were zero complaints. Friends, how good and pleasant would it be if we remain where the Holy Spirit assigns us to stay without us grumbling?

Prayer
Gracious Father, please help me to remain attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit without grumbling about His order for my life. Jesus’s name, amen.

Exodus 40:36 NLT
“Now whenever the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out on their journey, following it.”
‭‭
Whenever the cloud
I recalled a time when I embarked on a 12-hour one-way road trip. It had taken place during the summer, and it all began at 3 am. The reason was that we didn’t know the terrain and wanted daylight advantage. However, in the case of the people of Israel, they moved whenever the cloud moved. If the cloud moved in the evening, they also moved. If the cloud moved while they were preparing any meal, they stopped cooking and moved. As belligerent as the Israelites were, the scripture did not indicate for once that they stayed back when the cloud moved. Friends, the Holy Spirit is the guide for every child of God. In Romans 8 verse 14, the scripture says that those the Spirit leads are the children of God. Remember that the people of Israel never declined the leading of the cloud, don’t ever decline the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer
Faithful Father, please take the lead and let me forever follow You. In Jesus’s name, amen.

A daily scripture exposition.

Sunday, January 22, 2023

Exodus 40:35 NLT
“Moses could no longer enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled down over it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.”
‭‭
The cloud settled down
What made the cloud settle down, and the glory of God fill the Tabernacle? Why didn’t these events occur immediately after the lampstand was set up or when the altars of incense and burnt offerings were put in place? Why was it that everything happened after the completion of the setup? The timing is instructive for knowledge. It suggests that God is not moved by the tangible but by the intangible. Take, for instance, the situation that surrounded the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. On the day God fulfilled the promise of the Holy Spirit, the disciples had no altar of burnt offering or incense or any lampstand with them. It is worth noting that the event occurred during a festivity, which means that none of them was fasting. Another message centers on what Moses did when the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. The scripture says that he stayed out. He didn’t claim that the schedule was disrupted but accepted God’s chosen modality. Everything happened in a flash, yet Moses adapted.

Prayer
Faithful Father, please let me always know that Your grace is sufficient for me. In Jesus’s name, amen.

‭‭
Signs of approval
God monitors everything we do in His vineyard, and whenever He is pleased with our deliveries, He gives His sign of approval which can come in diverse forms. For our Lord and Savior, it was a voice from heaven; however, for Moses, it was two interrelated events. First, the cloud covered the Tabernacle. This was the cloud that went with the children of Israel. Second, the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. Please note that none of these happened because Moses recited the name of God; but because he pleased God with the setting up of the Tabernacle. Friends, how do you and I manage the task assigned to us? Is it haphazardly or wholeheartedly? It is only wholehearted devotion to divine functions that facilitate the kind of experience that Moses recorded.

Prayer
Faithful Father, help to always be faithful in carrying out every task assigned to me. In Jesus’s name, amen.

“Then he hung the curtains forming the courtyard around the Tabernacle and the altar. And he set up the curtain at the entrance of the courtyard. So at last Moses finished the work.”
‭‭
At last!
Life is a project, and so are our endeavors, as each has a start and an end date. And until we start the countdown, the finish line will not commence. Please note that the endeavors might sometimes be daunting and intimidating, but with total reliance on God for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, success is inevitable. The responsibilities that Moses shouldered were numerous, and none of them was a no-brainer. Moses did everything based on God’s timing, and then a time came when all the tasks were marked completed. Friends, let us not be hesitant in attending to the divine task assigned to us because everything with a beginning, always an end.

Prayer
Faithful Father, I pray that I end well through Your help. In Jesus’s name, amen.

A daily scripture exposition.

Thursday, January 19, 2023

Exodus 40:32 NLT
“Whenever they approached the altar and entered the Tabernacle, they washed themselves, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”
‭‭
Jesus did it all!
The importance of Jesus’s death and resurrection is difficult to comprehend fully. For instance, according to God’s instructions, Aaron and his sons were required to sanctify themselves before entering the Tabernacle. And today’s referenced scripture stated it – each must wash himself! The washing is not dependent on whether they shower before approaching the Tabernacle; instead, they had to wash themselves each time they approached the Tabernacle. The fact they washed themselves 5 minutes before leaving the Tabernacle did not exclude them from doing it at another time within a day when they wanted to enter the Tabernacle again. Even though science says that the elderly should have minimal contact with water to minimize dryness of their skin, Moses and Aaron, in their eighties, did everything to God’s glory. Friends, do not serve God based on whether or not it syncs with the norms or traditions of your immediate environment.

Prayer
You are the only one and true God, I thank You for the perfect gift of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Please help me so I may continually be appreciative of Your great love. In Jesus’s name, amen.
